Hello,
we are starting to think to deploy a 10 Gb architecture with some single port CNA from QLOGIC (2 per server), connected through some Nexus 5xxx cisco switches and using a Netapp Filer.
After having started to look for some best practices on how to setup all the vswitches and physical stuff, I have 2 way of thinking and I have no proof of which is the best one. Here are the 2 way of thinking that I saw :
- keep 2 gigabits ports for management network, vMotion in a dedicated switch and on another switch mapped to the 10 Gb Network to connect the production network for VM.
- create a new switch connected to the 10 Gb cards and create port group and management networks for all the production & managmeent traffic.
Do some of you have an experience return on this kind of implementation ?
Thanks in advance for you advices.
Philippe.
